“On a clear day I can see forever”

The day flew by in a blur of intense work intermixed with an unexpected caller asking if I could adapt a play for publication, only to put the matter on hold. Mind swirling with the dreams of a European designer determined to live in Asia, I was too busy to consider what had happened to mine.

Craving fresh air and a change of scenery, I took a walk later. Too tired to think, though, I sank my feet into thick grass and plodded toward a small stone pedestal where I rested a bit, wrapped in warming sunshine. On the return, I glimpsed an unusual cloud formation in the sky. At first glance, it appeared to be a large cross with a break near the bottom. I gazed at it for a while sensing but not quite seeing the presence of another form beside it. Then there it was - the curve of wings, outstretched arms, features of a great angel, that had caused the breakthrough. I was not hallucinating. This was no Rorschach test, no inkblot. The angel and cross were entwined, white against a field of blue.

Matthew 28:1 After the Sabbath, as the first light of the new week dawned, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to keep vigil at the tomb. 2 Suddenly the earth reeled and rocked under their feet as God’s angel came down from heaven, came right up to where they were standing. He rolled back the stone and then sat on it. 3 Shafts of lightning blazed from him. His garments shimmered snow-white. 4 The guards at the tomb were scared to death. They were so frightened, they couldn’t move. 5 The angel spoke to the women: “There is nothing to fear here. I know you’re looking for Jesus, the One they nailed to the cross. 6 He is not here. He was raised, just as he said. Come and look at the place where he was placed. 7 ”Now, get on your way quickly and tell his disciples, ‘He is risen from the dead. He is going on ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there.’ That’s the message.” 8 The women, deep in wonder and full of joy, lost no time in leaving the tomb. They ran to tell the disciples. 9 Then Jesus met them, stopping them in their tracks. “Good morning!” he said. The Message

  1. Beautiful. And I so needed this refreshment today.

  2. My prayer is that you will experience the joy of His “Good Morning” every day. Thanks for being my cheerleader, Vickie.
